Stephanie Powell
Veterinary Technician

I started working with animals at a young age with pet-sitting in the neighborhood and I owned cats, a dog, hamsters, a sugar glider, and fish. From 1998-2005, I worked at the Emergency Animal Clinic of NW Austin where I learned how to be a veterinary technician in a fast-paced but very educational environment. I love all animals (fins, furs, feathers, and scales) but I definitely have a special place for cats and horses. My current herd includes: Pencil, a 12yo thoroughbred I’ve owned since he was 3; Rhianna, a mature tortoiseshell who will eat nearly anything; B.C., a “barn cat” with more personality and flair than one cat can contain; and Belle, a rescue cat who has many special needs but a heart of pure gold. I’m so proud to have joined the caring and innovative team at Zoot this year and look forward to getting to know the clients here. I also work part-time at Ride On Center for Kids, here in Georgetown, as a PATH Int’l Registered Therapeutic Riding Instructor which has been a life-long dream. At R.O.C.K., I am blessed to see the miracles happen every day with horses healing human hearts, minds, and bodies.
